JERUSALEM CHRISTIAN ASSEMBLY (JCA)

Jerusalem Christian Assembly is located on the northern border of Vijayawada city, beside Rajiv Nagar. This ministry began as a pioneering work in the year 2005, started by Joseph Sikha.

Coming from a software professional background, it was not easy to step into this challenging field. The area was underdeveloped, lacking proper education, housing, and infrastructure. It was heavily influenced by idolatry and communist ideology, with one side resembling a slum and the other a deserted land. It was one of the most backward areas on the outskirts of Vijayawada city.

In obedience to the call of God, I resigned from my job in 2002 and surrendered my life for the Master’s use. Along with my wife Anitha and our two small children, we came to this area to share the Gospel and care for the people. For a long time, we labored without seeing visible fruit.

On 6th February 2005, we began a small gathering on the rooftop of a house. Even then, there was no immediate response. However, on 15th July 2005, after spending an entire day crying out before the Lord and seeking His face for the salvation of souls, God answered. That evening, as the Gospel was preached, six people accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord. This became the first fruit of the ministry.

On 30th October 2005, we officially began gathering as an Assembly for the Breaking of Bread, with six believers along with my wife and myself, in a small house with a cement-sheet roof and walls covered with blue sheets. God, in His grace, remembered us and gradually added many souls to the church.

On 28th March 2011, construction of a prayer hall began, and on 10th March 2012, we started worshiping in the new prayer hall. We named this place “Ebenezer Valley”, meaning “Stone of Help”, where believers gather for Bible study, fellowship, breaking of bread, and prayer. The elders of the Assembly are very much helpful in feeding, heeding and leading the flock.

From 15th March 2015, the Lord entrusted us with the responsibility of the Emmaus Correspondence School under Emmaus India, to help Telugu-speaking believers connect the Bible with their daily walk. Furthermore, as part of Jerusalem Christian Assembly’s ministry, we started a regular Bible college named Ebenezer Valley Institute of Theology (EVIT) in collaboration with Emmaus Academy of Biblical Studies (EABS) on 10th December 2020, to equip believers across the Telugu-speaking states.

Since the establishment of Ebenezer Valley, God has transformed this once-forgotten area into a well-developed locality with good roads, housing, and access to the national highway. Yet, many people still live in spiritual darkness. We earnestly request your prayers that they may come to the Light of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Kindly remember the ministry of Jerusalem Christian Assembly (JCA) in your prayers.
