ABOUT US
The vision for Ebenezer Valley Institute of Theology (EVIT) began in March 2005, when I first learned about the Emmaus ministry while serving in the mission field at New Bangaigaon, Assam. From that moment, I developed a deep desire to study God’s Word through the Emmaus Bible courses.
Exactly ten years later, in March 2015, by God’s sovereign plan, I was placed in the Emmaus ministry to serve as a coordinator, taking His Word to Telugu-speaking believers.
Under the gracious guidance of our National Coordinator, Brother K. C. Jacob (Bangalore), and the spiritual leadership of Brother V. Sambob, along with the cooperation of our Telugu Emmaus team, the ministry expanded to many assemblies. Many believers joined and benefited from these courses, enabling them to study God’s Word systematically.
A significant milestone came in October 2016, when our International Director, Brother Jim Fleming, visited Ebenezer Valley. His visit played a vital role in strengthening and advancing the Emmaus work among Telugu-speaking believers.
As believers’ interest in systematic Bible study continued to grow, we began establishing assembly-based study centers for structured Bible teaching. Witnessing their zeal for God’s Word, the Lord burdened my heart to equip them through regular Bible classes.
In March 2020, EABS Director Brother Sam K. John visited Ebenezer Valley and conducted the E2S (Equipped to Serve) seminar for the new generation of workers. During this time, I shared the growing need for theological training among believers, which inspired and encouraged him greatly.
Subsequently, the Emmaus India Board, in association with EABS, approved the commencement of regular Bible courses under the name “Ebenezer Valley Institute of Theology (EVIT)”, a ministry of Jerusalem Christian Assembly, Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.
EVIT was inaugurated on 10th December 2020 and began its classes on 4th January 2021. We thank God for His faithfulness and humbly request your prayers for the continued growth and spiritual impact of Ebenezer Valley Institute of Theology.

Emmaus Worldwide is a Christian ministry focused on helping people grow in their relationship with Jesus through structured Bible study materials. For over 80 years, it has produced and distributed self-paced Bible study courses designed to help individuals:
- Know Jesus Christ,
- Grow in faith and Christian maturity,
- Share their faith with others.
These courses are available in dozens of languages and formats (print and digital) and are used globally for personal devotion, group study, and outreach. The ministry emphasizes connection with mentors and transformational learning through its curriculum. Emmaus Worldwide also supports other ministries such as prison outreach and provides global resources through its app and online platforms.
Emmaus India is the national body coordinating the Emmaus correspondence ministry within India. It grew out of early mid-20th-century missionary work that began distributing Emmaus Bible courses in several Indian languages. Over time, Indian leaders took responsibility for the work, and in 2008 a trust named Emmaus Ministries was formed to lead this mission; it was later re-registered in 2015 as Emmaus India. By God’s grace, Emmaus India recently reached a significant milestone: 13 courses have been translated into eight major Indian languages, covering nearly 83% of the population. Work is actively underway in Punjabi, Nepali, Dzongkha (Bhutan), and twelve other minor languages.
Emmaus Academy of Biblical Studies (EABS) is an academic initiative of the Emmaus India ministries launched in 2018 with its office in Bangalore. Since its inception, 900 students have enrolled for the English medium program which is now headed by Br. Shiju Simon Cherian as its principal.
The Lord also helped EABS team to launch similar programs in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. The Telugu medium program of EABS has been organised in collaboration with Ebenezer Valley Institute of Theology (EVIT), Vijayawada in the last 3 years under the able leadership of Bro. Joseph Sikha. We are grateful to the Lord for the efforts taken by EVIT in producing Theologically trained leaders.

Emmaus and EVIT Partnership
A strategic partnership between Emmaus India and the Ebenezer Valley Institute of Theology (EVIT) will significantly benefit Telugu-speaking believers and church communities by combining the strengths of both ministries. Emmaus India brings a long-standing, systematic Bible correspondence and discipleship curriculum in multiple Indian languages, designed to help learners know Christ and grow in their understanding of Scripture through flexible online and offline study options. EVIT, committed to grounding believers in God’s Word and training them for effective ministry, offers contextual theological education and formation that deepens biblical knowledge and equips individuals for service. Together, this partnership can translate, contextualise, and deliver tailored theological resources and structured Bible study programmes in Telugu, enhancing accessibility for Telugu-speaking Christians who want to engage with Scripture more deeply. By integrating Emmaus India’s curriculum with EVIT’s theological training, the collaboration can support holistic spiritual growth, equip leaders for local church ministry and outreach, and strengthen discipleship pathways that are culturally and linguistically relevant to the Telugu-speaking population.
The unchanging Word of God:
The Lord Jesus Christ affirmed the eternal and unchanging nature of the Word of God when He declared, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away” (Matthew 24:35). In this powerful statement, Jesus reminds us that everything in this world is temporary—creation itself will one day fade—but His Word stands forever.
The unchanging Word of God is our sure foundation, our unfailing guide, and our enduring hope in a world marked by uncertainty and decay. Through Christ’s own assurance, we are invited to anchor our lives not in the fleeting things of this world, but in the eternal truth that can never be shaken.
EVIT: stands committed in teaching the Word of God using Internationally acclaimed Emmaus Bible Study courses under the guidance of Emmaus Academy of Biblical Studies (EABS). My prayers and best wishes as EVIT continues this mission, Maranatha!
